The exhibition at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle features 9 oil paintings created in 2024 on the island of Menorca, Spain.
Painted by Spanish artist Carles Gomila, each work explores timeless, archetypal themes that merge modern elements with symbols from every era.
These pieces capture a powerful mix of blossoming beauty, discovery, bewilderment, and destructive force, reflecting a balance between intrigue and fear.
Every vision is drawn directly from Gomila’s dream journal.
- Opening Reception December 7th 6-9pm - Artist will be in attendance

There’s a Strange Heaven in my mind.
Strange, because I don’t even know if I like it. I don’t know what it means. I have no idea what to think of it.
At times it captivates me, other times it poisons me.
When something obsesses me and I don’t understand it, I paint it.
I just let things be.
This is my Strange Heaven: images rising from the subconscious, fragments from my dream journal.
These rare paradises come from a place not so strange. It’s a place we all share, the place where minds wander when they stop thinking and let go. The world of dreams.
These works aim to connect dreams. Maybe one of my dreams will connect with yours—it happens often.
I hope our dreams meet in these portals made with oil.
This will be our Strange Heaven.
