(1978, Menorca)
If you've stopped here, something already happened.
These pieces are made to live with you for years. They keep secrets. They get better the longer you stay in the room.
Painted on a small Mediterranean island.
For Collectors
A painter builds an identity by pushing out what's inside. A collector builds one the other way around, by choosing what comes in. Both processes are creative. Both demand an eye, patience, and the willingness to be wrong in public. Both produce, over the years, a body of work that only the author can fully read.
A gallery is where these two breaths meet. Where one exhales and the other inhales, and between them they hold something neither could make alone.
If you've made it this far, you're probably already collecting, whether or not you call it that. The things you choose to look at every day. The ones you let grow old beside you. The ones that survive three moves. That's collecting.
For acquisitions, everything goes through Roq La Rue, Seattle.

My Art is twilight-touched and adamant.
As a kid, monsters were my muses -they taught me how to see.
Now I paint the visions they left behind, chasing the dragons curled deep in my chest.
I’m still that kid. But now, I play with a deck of marked cards.
I also a crisis designer, running highly disruptive boot camps that shake artists to the bone. We call it QUARANTINE.
I also run a Purgatory for Artists on a real quarantine island. It’s where we help artists break through and unlock their potential. We call it QUARANTINE.
“Moved by the traditional, but also drawn to the contemporary, Carles Gomila harmonizes both with a dash of technical agility.” International Artist Magazine, US.
“…winks like something Gabriel García Márquez might have wanted on an LP cover had he joined the rock group Blind Faith.” The Sunday Times, UK.
My life isn't particularly flashy; my days are filled with painting, reading, and cherishing moments with my cat, Judy Garland, on a secluded island, where I deliberately remain out of the loop.
I paint what I see between the idea and the blood.
